Call from a young lady, forgot her name, who said she was from something she called ARS, yet refused to provide a more understandable identification.

I contend that this is a violation of U.S.C. Title 15, Ch 41, Subch 5, § 1692b!

FDCPA 1692b concerns skip tracing. If you did not identify as the alleged debtor and the ARS rep did not discuss the debt account, there is no violation. The girl is required only to identify HERself, and can use an alias. Volunteering an acronym or name for her employer is not required unless you ask for it, and actually telling you it means (at a guess) "Associated Recovery Systems" starts her down the slope of saying too much.
