On 4/1/13 @ 4pm Caller ID: Service Call
Answering machine took call - no message
This is a Milwaukee, WI Landline number. -- I have a little program on my computer that I can
use to find where the number is from - it will tell me where an address is also and provide a map of the location - it won't tell me when a scammer is spoofing a number.
I notice all the complaints on this site - why don't you just buy a landline phone with answering
machine and simply set it to take calls after 2 rings(this lets you see the Caller ID). My phone
as a built in voice message that simply states: Hello - No one is available to take your call, please leave a message after the tone or I can record my own message. I use the one that
comes with the phone so there is no recording of my or my husband's voice.
I paid $79.99 for this phone with built in answering machine. This gives me the landline in case
power goes off, answering machine for all this scammer and political calls, and I never have to jump and run to answer the phone. Plus, I keep my cell phone off unless I'm using it which is only out of the house so I don't have these type of calls coming in on it wasting my minutes.
You all might think about this.
It doesn't do any good to list your numbers on the National Do Not Call List other than give the
scammers your number. State governments do nothing to stop these calls, phone companies
do nothing to stop these calls - it is up to us as individuals to handle them. I only get maybe 1 or 2 a week and since the election is over the phone is pretty silent. During the election cycle
I had to limit my machine's answer time to 1 minute.
These people call 5-8 times a week. The call starts with "The FBI states that etc...."
It's a Robo call. By not answering, it prompts them to call back in one or two hours or the next day.
