backtracked to Wauwatosa WI. unknown number but as mentioned below i have had the same caller circulating funds for police charities call me a few times from a few different numbers, each time i block them. When i try to call back its always busy. the huge thing here is they never say what police department or where.. thats the tip that tells me its fake. ANY law enforcement agency worth it's salt anywhere IS REQUIRED to say who they are, and they will especially in social matters because part of why they do it is to bring good public relations so they want the world to know they are helping someone-- if they don't say where they are from or what charity specifically it is for, chances are about 99% that it is bogus.
They called my personal cell at 9AM; I didn't answer as I never answer unknown numbers. No message left. I've been expecting an important return phone call lately so I was about to call them back - glad I checked online first.
