Man called me from 414-944-3304 at 10:38AM on 08/14/13. Wanted to let me know that my daughter would be behind 3 payments as of 08/15/13. I am a co-signer for an auto she purchased in Oct 2010. He wanted me to know that my credit could be affected. I told him that I was now aware of that fact having just been turned down for a loan because "Currently has delinquent credit obligations". I said I was somewhat distraught that Wells Fargo would inform the Credit Bureau of this info but has never notified me of the fact. He then became somewhat beligerant and did hang up on me in the middle of my speaking to him. My daughter lives 100 miles from me and has not been up front with me re: her payments.
Got a voice message at work from "Katie at Wells Fargo Dealer Services" using my name and asking me to return the call at this number. When I called, I got the typical "press 1 for..." menu system, but got through to a real person who forwarded me to Katie. She didn't recall why she had called me, but said if I gave her my SSN, she could look it up. I responded that I don't just give that out. She asked for my account number, but the last time I had any business with Wells Fargo was 20 years ago. Also, very few people have my work number. There's something extremely fishy about this whole thing.
This number called me at 9 pm on a weekend and then just called asking for my husband who I said was unavailable. He then said tell him leon called from wells fargo and have him call me back. But never left me a number to call back with.
