I have been online looking for payday loans. (Alot of sites, alot of filling out forms). So when this company called me, and said they were from "....Instant PayDay, blah, blah, I didn't think too much of it at first. I even asked him to repeat it, but his Indian accent was alittle difficult to decipher (for me) and all I heard was the Instant and Pay Day parts.
Nevertheless, he began to ask me questions to verify my information, e.g. (000) 000-0000 is your phone number, correct? Your name is Abcabcabc, Abcabc, correct? BUT when he got to verifying my checking account number he said "read me your numbers..." or something and I stopped dead. I asked why? He kept repeating that it was necessary, I am calling you from the ????? department I must verify this info."
Well, I said "ok, but you read me the number and I will confirm it."
He refused, I asked several times why the quest ion was asked this way and he kept repeating the "I'm from ???department, I need to verify this, blah, blah, blah." And I kept repeating my question.
I got a (alleged) supervisor who proceeded to explain the reason with the same ridiculous statements.
Why does this particular information need to be given to you and not asked like all the other questions so far??
He tried explaining why he needed this information. (I'm not dumb, just bad with finances) I told him I understood WHY he needed the information, I just wouldn't give him my account information unless he provided assurance that it was secure, etc., etc., etc.
He finally just started talking over me saying, "I'm sorry, Miss we are declining your loan."
Big surprise there.
Anyway, I'm still broke, now homeless, but needed to warn you guys.
