Any Prefix beginning with a 0 or a 1 is a spoofed number. All real US telephone numbers begin with 2 through 9
Anything else is someone using technology to try to trick your caller id.

Got a call from this today from a Peter Watson, he thought he was talking to a person when it was my voice mail. Which leads me to believe it's a robo call that connects to a real person when they detect the phone being answered. The number is from California, I know no one there and do no business with anyone there so I'm assuming it's some sort of scam being he said his name and said "are you there" but didn't say a name of a company which any real call will do, they'll give their name and the name of the company.
AC 727-024-5698 today 4/23/2015 from "Hello, this is Peter Watson calling. How are you today?" I never pick up no matter how annoying the call, sometimes I get 7 a day most from 'unknown callers' who are very rude. Thanks for the tip on 0-1 lead #s - I thought that was strange.
