This number was given as a general co. # so I could verify the co. name Tech Pro, given when called from : 763-200-4511. I'm pretty sure area codes are not actually indicative of location, and that the calls are "triangulated". Here's what I wrote for THAT number:
caller gave name quickly and said he was calling from Tech Pro. Asked for an employee and kept mentioning employee's title (which was incorrect). When I asked what the call was regarding he said. "I actually just need to discuss some IT matters with (__employee's name__) IT manager (again, title was wrong). I put him on hold, looked up the number here, and then asked him to repeat his company name, and then "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but do you have a number with which I can verify that company? He gave: 415-230-0545. I put on hold again while I "verify its legitimacy". He didn't hang around.
Tech Pro is a real company it seems, but I don't think either of these phone numbers is associated with them. Here's tech pro's current public contact info:
