Yep, this guy is making the rounds.........he left two message to call 415.251.8453; however, with his heavy accent and since I wear hearing aids, I really could not understand him. So I googled that number and guess what I found??????? You all!!!
I got the robotic phone message today's morning and I called back with same phone number: 4152518453 and they want my attorney's contact to send detailed info and they also threat to arrest my wife on coming monday on tax fraud blala.
I was panic and called my wife and then suspect it is scam and them google and then find this and the call the police to report this
I also got the call from this 415-251-8453, but there was no people at home to answer it. A lady left message said that she was from IRS, and asked me to call back to "prevent further legal action against you". I have no ideal what this is about. It is definitely a SCAM.
This morning I received a call from the above number and the voice on the other sounded like a recorded message. I was told that I owed money to the IRS and that I should call or have my attorney call immediately because there are criminal charges against me which could lead to my arrest. I called the number back and a man answered. He said that there are 2 criminal charges filed against me for fraud and illegal tax filing and was facing 5 years in jail. He said that he would read the affidavit to me and that I should not interrupt him while he read. I listened, heard that I had been under investigation and owe $6,000.00 for incorrectly filing for the past six years and that with the penalties and filing charges it would be about $14,000.00 or more. I was advised to get a criminal attorney. I told him that I do not live at the address he provided so he told me that wherever I am, the local sheriff would arrest me and the attorney will have to arrange bail.
This was scary... At first I thought that maybe my ID had been compromised but my daughter checked on line and found that it is a scam. I hope that they can find these crooks!!!
In correction, the first time I called the number it went to voice mail and the message said that the box was full so I should try the call later. I hung up and called back two minutes later and the man answered.
