Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
I received 2 calls asking me to return call to irs so no action would be taken against me. The voice sounded like a robot but the phrases used were not like what would be used. I suspected this was a scam.
I woke to a call from this number, the message was a machine telling me I owe back taxes and was going to jail if I did not call back. In my mental fog, I called back, the Indian man on the line informed me that I owe huge back taxes... Which I do not. Why is this number still active with all of these complaints? And better yet, why have the police not arrested them yet???
