Just got the same call and couldn't believe on my cell phone nonetheless! First they would call my landline, now me call? How did they get it? And I can't believe the proper authorities do not investigate these type of scammers. And lastly, this is not a local police matter if you don't pay your taxes, it belongs to another jurisdiction!
I received this call from IRS Officer Julie Smith. I figured it was a scam because we all know the government doesn't work on the weekend. I called back, but the call went right to voicemail. We are on the do not call list, and I don't use my home number for anything so I'm not sure where they are pulling the numbers from.
I received same message and same number from officer Julie smith I knew it was scam because irs does not contact like this and on wkend I will be reporting this to THE REAL IRS on Monday morning
Google your name and also your phone number, any place such as Spokeo that shows up, make them remove the information. There's also places that list even your relatives. Make sure any place you have like FB is also set to private. You may also wish to read these articles:
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
