I'm on the Do Not Call list - help
Unfortunately the Do not call list will not help you with scammers like the one now calling you. In fact the DNC Registry has only a limited service. It is nothing but a list that Registered with the FTC Telemarketing companies are required to purchase to avoid calling those on the list. And for that purpose, the purpose that it was created, it works very well. However, unlike many people somehow think, it was not intended to anything else.
I know that it would mean a change which you shouldn't have to do, but have you considered maybe a Straight Talk home phone or unlimited cell phone? The home phone is 15 dollars a month and works very well and the cell phone is 45 dollars per month for unlimited talk/text/data. Your unwanted callers would still call but at least they won't be eating any minutes.
I left AT&T and went totally to straight talk. I cancelled my home phone, my cell phone, and DSL with AT&T. The funny part is that I am a retired AT&T Electrical Engineer of 22 years. Boy have they changed.
