The telephone number 415-294-8201 appeared as the home account telephone number on my old RCN Dial Up Internet account from 1999. However, this is NOT our phone number! And we haven't used dial-up for at least 8 years. Also, we have Comcast Broadband, not RCN!! We called several times to complain to RCN that we were being billed on our American Express Card for internet service that we don't use. RCN support could never find our account and we were told they could not help us. This morning we were told that our last name was misspelled as HANN. So that may help for anybody else who is looking for an identity to place with 415-294-8201. RCN refused to tell me the address associated with that name and phone number - the people getting free dial-up at our expense... and, oh yes... We had to call American Express to resolve the issue.

I just rec'd a phone call from this number as well. when calling it back, it just says it's out of service. this woman caller wanted to tell me that there was a subpoena out for me writing bad checks. I informed her that I was with Law Enforcement, and know that this isn't how subpoena's work. She then asked "have you been writing bad checks Maam?" and I said no. She stated, yes you are b/c I have the summons. I then said, but I don't have a checking account, idiot. And she said, everyone does. You get the point. this is a total scam. when you see this number, don't acknowledge your real name and PLAY with them. It's so much fun! I Like to say that I actually work for the same company that she does and don't know how I got on the call list.
