These people are scam artist. Yes they call from Baker and Mckenzie law firm, but do some research. The guy called me three times today and I have him on the reject list. I applied for a payday loan one time and I paid them off. Whenever you get a payday loan some how these scam artist gets ahold of your personal information such as your name, s.s #, address, and job information. I pray that noone actually sends these people money.
You paid them money? I called Baker & MacKenzie law firm in San Fran and they have no knowledge of these types of calls being made. I have reported this number to my authorities. They said I was being sued for a payday loan. I said you need to provide me with the paperwork. They refused but said I need to pay $415.54. I'm all over that!! Don't think so!!
Yes, these folks are definitely scammers. Woman called with a heavy accent and left her name and this number on my voicemail. She said, her name is Christy Haden which I know is a lie because if you heard her accent, there is no way she has an american name. Secondly, law offices do not call and leave threatening messages. The law states they will need to either mail or send a sheriff in your home town with an affidavit to appear in court or contact their law office. The only reason they will not send you an affidavit is because you can take it to any police station or lawyer to see if the affidavit is valid. Don't be scared and please don't pay these scammers. They are either using an exchange contact number ( meaning the number changes when the law is after them) or they are calling over the internet (Voip) so they don't get caught. I work for an attorney. Also, ask the lawyer for their bar number. Every license attorney has a bar number and you can validate their number with the Lawyer Bar Association.
