I received the same call and because I know this was a scam and I'm home I decided to to harass them. I confronted him as to when the IRS started making calls instead of sending a certified letter or sending a person. He kept wanting my number which I wouldn't give him and said that I just wanted my question answered. He got so flustered that he said fine wait to the sheriff shows up. I said great I look forward to it because they at least know where I live and he hung up on me. Lol
OK, raj, no fair! You can't just tell everybody that you "abused" the guy & "pissed him off..." with details, LOL! This sounds like a story that must be shared in detail! :-)
The caller pretending to be Michael Smith, is actually, "SAMEER SHAIKH" and he works for Ocwen Loan Servicing, LLC. , 800-746-2936. Ocwen is aware that he is attempting to commit fraud and/or scam their customers by using information from the customer files. That was two years ago, Ocwen apparently still has SAMEER SHAIKH on their payroll. THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES, AS TO THE INTEGRITY OF THEIR COMPANY.
