Automated voice says to call a certain number back immediately or will b held for 72 hours facing criminal charges, n that feds will b at doorstep soon......
Got an animated recording that the if I did not call this number for the US treasury back in 72 hours, the police would be at my door to arrest me. I tried to call the number back from my cell phone and a foreign guy (Spanish? not sure) picked up and said something and then disconnected. I tried to call the number back several times and it said that I cannot call from this phone. I have to call from a land line. I called from my work phone 3 different times and the same foreign guy picked up every time. There was no operator, no switchboard, no nothing except a guy trying to scam me. He did say it was the US treasury when he answered the phone. I know that the IRS, or the Treasury Dept would send a letter in the mail. They would not call you and threaten you. But this message still shocked me, scared me, and worried me. Do I have anything at all to worry about? I do not think so, but it still worries the hell out of me.
