Sometimes background check-ers might utilize to make sure that this is you or you have the same address in this number, as it is not possible for them to visit 100 of applicants home through out the day. Just a simple verificatoin process to understand that it is ur number r you live that address. It can be private company outsourced by the government/loca/state agencies. I live in Eastern zone and number was poping up as CA, Never been there and dont have any one in CA.
It called me and asked if I am so & so and whether it is my residence or not? I asked whos this but she asked the same question. As I was driving I hung up in the face by saying no this is not residence. If anybody is asking me then they need to identify them first thats my motto.
I got six calls from this number and every time my mom picked up the phone a guy would ask for an Ashley but as soon as she would ask who it was he would hang up or keep asking "where is Ashley" it's really creepy.
