Call came at 4:13 PM today, 12/17/13. Did not bother to answer, and no message left. Caller ID SENIORCW. Do Not Call list obviously is useless lately. I have received on average 3 calls every day or the last six months from a variety of numbers, including a very odd one of 215-187-9809. PA law requires that telemarketers identify themselves on the caller ID, but there must not be any teeth in this act. I looked into call blocking, but the illegits of the trade can get around it by simply having more than one extension. Any suggestions much appreciated.
I answer the phone and play along as a grateful desperate senior (maybe I really am one) just to waste their time. With the shutdown, the FTC will never get around to stopping these guys. I suspect some of them made campaign contributions because even when the government was up and running these calls kept coming in droves. Funny the DNC worked when it was first initiated under a different administration. Any time you can take from them is less time they have to perpetuate their scams.
Since they hang up without saying anything I'm thinking they are getting paid for the number of calls they make.... why don't companies realize that outsourcing doesn't work. If we are going to take a call we want to hear form the company themselves not some rude joker
Calls and informs me that crime is high in my neighborhood. Crime is high everywhere I told them. I have a alarm, I also have a gun. Quit call please I ask, it will take 3 days to remove me, 3 days later they have a new number, I am on the do not call list, doesn't matter because the FCC doesn't do a dang thing but collect a paycheck.
