Got a call today, rang three times then quit. I had recently posted my resume on Monster, may have gotten it from there. Regardless....been getting calls from Insurance companies lately asking to confirm my interview. Calls come from one number but ask me to call another to confirm. I am betting this is one.
i just received a call from them. the guy said he was calling in reference to an online survey I filled out. I asked him which online survey and he ignored my question and told me he has a few question so we can find the right fit of employers in my area. I told him I am not looking for a job and what survey was this? He ignored me again and then asked me another question in regards to employment. I told him I was not looking for a job--- and he again ignored me and asked another question. I hung up as I was feeling very uncomfortable as to what was going on at this point. It was really really strange.
got same. lead them on about survey and then blew a fire whistle so loud into phone it hurt my ears. that dud is saying huh? alot today. odd that the number came up from belvedere ca. dont know anyone in belvedere who needs to scam via phone . blow their ears apart
Not much to add, I got the spiel about it being a call in regards to "... an online job survey someone in your household filled out recently..." The guy spoke (American) English clearly and with no accent so I'm sure it originated in the U.S.
I've found that a great way to get idiots like this to leave me alone is to wait until they tell me who they are and then tell them the call is being recorded and they are in violation of the TCPA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_Consumer_Protection_Act_of_1991) and if I receive any further calls from them I will file suit against them. The TCPA states that we can sue these telemarketers for $1,500 for EACH violation they make.
