I received the same call, left a voicemail with the phone number and I called back. The women was yelling at me that I needed to listen more in broken english. The call came from a busy and loud call center. I said, if this is serious, why am I getting a phone call. Calling her bluff, I asked her to mail me information... She verified my address from 4 years ago. When I told her it wasn't my address, she argued it was. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she hung up. I already blocked the number with my phone provider. Total Scam! Don't answer!
they called my house 2 times today and it is a scam cause first of all if it was truly the irs they would mention in the msg who the call is actually for and not just state that they were from the irs and making a lawsuit against you. Also the first time they called it showed up as a wireless caller on my caller ID...dead give away the irs would not call from a cell phone.
Received call at 8:14 AM, despite the fact I had the "ringer" turned off. They left message which was cut-off, but the portion I received stated "you are being sued, Please contact our department" yada, yada, yada. I didn't know it was the IRS. I would immediately run in panic through the streets, but I have bad knees.
