Received call from 415-428-7726 at 7:22am on 7/15/2015.
Message: "Hotline to my Division; 415-428-7726 , Do not disregard this call before we take any action. Good bye and take care."
Did not return call: Action taken; Searched the number on the web and received IRS warning regarding fraud attached to this number.
Received call from (415) 418-7726 with a recording from IRS agent "Mickey Johnson" saying I needed to call back ASAP.
Calling back a man answered and when I asked for Mickey Johnson" he said that person was a member of his unit. He asked for my name and spelling of it, which I gave him. He then said that I was being arrested and that I would lose everything including my home. I said "OK." There was nothing further said. I then hung up.
Yesterday I got this call to call back when I did this michael jones he told me that I committed tax fraud and would lose everything I owned my children my job and go to jail when I hung up because there is no service in my building another number called me back posing as the police that would come to arrest me he called me back telling me I could pay less and make payments and not be arrested I told him I would call him back today I have not because I looked into this scam he was very scary and bully on the phone he made me feel like a criminal when he is the real criminal

How are these people still able to use the same number? I understand you can't arrest them if theyre out of country, but does anyone have the authority to shut off the number?
