Yea the ad was on craigslist and they went by the name Maureen Roberts they sent a picture of some lady saying it was them and they worked for Fybom inc and that they needed a personal assistant they sent me the same letter with the phone number +1 (347) 674-2318 . They sent a $3540 check and told me to keep $500 and to buy these scratch off cards of $500 each and send her the numbers. Thank goodness I didn't deposit the check into my account but I'm just mad that people would go through these lengths to try and scam people that are really in need of a job and are trying to do things the legal way
I just got a job offer from one Mr. Croom Washington. The job was "Personal Executive Assistant" Said he worked for Trim, Inc. a subsidiary of Coaster Fine Furniture. If I hadn't googled the tax ID number of the job description he provided me with. I would not of found a thread where they question his legitimacy. In it, it listed his number, I googled that and I found this thread. I guess my cynicism and general mistrust of people and things going well for me proved to be beneficial this time. My only regret is having filled out the online "job application" and provided this awful human being with my address and phone number.
How does one report these kinds of people? How can we keep them from scamming the innocent and the trusting?
Croom Washington is a SCAM, do not do any business with such a fraud.
They sent me a reply to Craigslist they posted for Administrative Assistant, saying I was just who they wanted to hire! IThey claim the company name is Trim Inc, and Coaster Fine Furniture. They would then have me to sign a disclosure that would release credit info and a job application. They want to give me check to deposit, and run errands in my own car. I replied back after I Goodled them to obviously see that is a fraud. Just by the response and name, I knew something was very wrong, I replied to them telling them they were a SCAMMERS. Somehow, I went back to the email sent any they erased the text of the email, but still left the link for the application. I contacted Craigslist, and they removed the post immediately.
Thanks for the post i almost gave my information away and I received a check for $2,500 with instructions to deposit to my account and withdraw $500 for my weeks pay and the rest to wire to Missouri. Thank god I googled this.
He even asked for my photo. So sketchy. Hard of hearing haha. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is!!!! I sent a msg reporting croom on craigslist.
