This number called our business with a recording that "they" were the Federal Government and that we needed to call. I knew it was a scam, but I called to "mess" with "them". Some heavy accented guy asked me my name, I gave him a fake name, he then tells me that I owe the Federal Government a lot of money. I told him that I knew that he was a Scam Artist and he laughed and asked me how I knew and if I knew, why did I call.
I wasted a few minutes of his time and then hung up. Jerks! The bad thing is that some people will fall for this bull.
I have received two messages from this number so far, both automated, claiming to be from the IRS with an agent name of Julie and threatening not to disregard the message before "action" is taken against me. I called the number back the first time, but did not get a name or even a message before it went right to voicemail. There is no reason for action and I thought it odd that it would be coming from California. Looked it up and found that this is a scam. I won't be returning the call again.
I got the same computer voice recording saying the call is from IRS agent Julie something and that action will be taken against me unless I contact them. This is clearly a scam call.
