I got call from this number twice now I blocked this number and my suggestion is you all should block this number they are just scammers operating from either india or Pakistan they got most of our info I believe b cos they work in call centers that's why!! So b cos of that info they make you to realize that they are really from IRS so never answer their call
My daughter received several phone calls from some one saying she was Julie Smith from the IRS and to return call immediately to avoid further action. I advised her that IRS would contact her via U.S. Mail if there was a problem concerning her taxes and explain in detail. They don't phone. Advised it was a scam and don't reply. Fortunately she called me before giving out any personal information.
Just received the message claiming to be IRS, BUT IT WAS A RECORDING not a live person and they left no instructions. We called back # and mailbox full. Obviously not the IRS. But can they do anything with just calling the # back?
I would hazard a guess and say they may think aha! we got a sucker and call you more if they see your caller id! Your best bet is to never call number back that you don't recognize. Your best bet is a call blocker to stop the calls though. Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
