This number is being used by India based scammers trying to get credit card info in order to 'reduce your credit card interest'. Original number they called from is 301-490-7853. Strung them along for about 20 minutes and dropped the call. They called back using this number.
They kept trying to get my full credit card number. They don't ask for the full number, but they want your bank/card-type (which provides the first 4 digits), and tried to get every number and was gracious enough to only get all but 1 number (which they can calculate using the luhn checksum). They insisted they were from my bank, but never asked my name, even though I offered that several times to 'confirm the account'.
Phone call supposedly from a company that represents visa, MasterCard, capital one and discover offering lower interest rates so you don't cancel your cards.
Called offering a lower VISA interest rate...was told we don't have VISA and we hung up. Idiots called back within minutes from the same number offering a lower rate on DISCOVER card. She then wanted us to read her our DISCOVER Card number and expiration to her!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Not happening!!! We hung up...
