Same here-just received voice mail and did call but hung up the call once I saw this. Can we report these people so they can be prosecuted? We don't need this kind of b.s. The only reason I thought it may be legit was after 20+ years of filing taxes, I did receive IRS letter with audit and for first time in my life I did get a penalty for some very hard to catch error that certainly wasn't intentional on my end. So yes these people need to go.
I have received 5 phone calls from this # today; As I do not answer it went to my voice mail telling me she was from the IRS; she stated that a warrant had been issued on me for past due accounts; if I did not call the # left today & make arrangements for payments I would be arrested. Ha! Ha! If they think I'm calling their # back they're crazy.
After reading your post while on the phone with this number (already knew it was spam) I stated the points you made and they actually just hung up. It was quite amusing!
