Received a call from 415-691-4320 stating that they were going to issue a warrant for me from the IRS, tried calling back from a land line and they never answered
I have had my taxes done by a reputable service for many years. The service I use is owned by a good friend, and my wife and I do not have any unusual or illegal issues regarding the IRS. The robot caller from 415-691-6041 does not know your name, your accountants name, or any personal information. They do not even reference a case number you can check with the actual IRS. Even given the obvious, that the IRS would NEVER call you and loose the chance to fine you for extra money, This is purely a lousy scam. Not well thought out and poorly executed. Still, they only need one percent of one percent to make triple my income.
Stated her name was Officer Laurin Matthews from the Internal Revenue Office and not to disregard the call. important to call back otherwise legal action was to take place. I tried calling the number a couple of times and her a faint sound then they hung up.
