Please ignore this number! My Caller ID read 'ST OF CA PUC'. I worked for the real telephone company for years and for one thing, the PUC would never call you. And for another, their name is NOT what the Caller ID read. I picked up the receiver and quickly hung up. Then I grabbed my cell and called the number back. I got 5 low-pitched beeps and then it went silent. It's just another hacker using a fake number. Do NOT waste your time. And the sad thing is that we can't report these creeps because they're using a fake number. So...like I already stated...do not waste your time.

This must be a fake # because this is the FAX number for the Calif PUC. The caller ID was St of Cal PUC, but I don't think a FAX is going to call you. Since someone was sleeping at our home at the time. I answered and then hung up without listening to probably was cold call for dual paned windows or how to lower your PGE bill. if you cal back you will just get a FAX tone.

these creeps will stop at nothing, now spoofing a number that actually belongs to a fax at the California Public Utilities Commission --- at least that is what my research has discovered. The caller ID for this number when it rang in my home was "ST OF CA PUC" --- and not believing that it could possibly be a scammer, well I answered it. No answer except a rude woman on the other end after about a half minute wait who just said "goodbye." It is becoming unbelievable as to the lengths that these telemarketer scammers will do to get into your house and to verify that they have reached a "live" number where "live person" actually answers. And so my number gets sold again and again and again and the ringing phone from these bums will not ever stop. Of course the government could care less, they sit on their liberal lazy [***] and do absolutely nothing, and then the phone companies just love it, REVENUE, REVENUE, BIG $$$$ for them, so there is no incentive there to stop this crap. Blocking or using your own devices to keep your sanity is the only recourse. Of course, I will never, ever answer this caller ID again, I will let my fax machine answer and squeal incessantly into the bum caller's ear, not that this will do any good, it won't. I blame all this preponderance of scam telemarketer calls on all the very stupid people in this country who continue to answer and fall for these schemes --- so long as millions of these really dumb people continue this practice, we all will suffer. If they only had enough common sense to stop, the money drain would cease. But, heck, then some other scourge would take its place. We sensible people cannot ever beat this one.
