Says they are the IRS. Yeah right! The IRS does not call and does not call to say you are going to be arrested by the police. Definitely someone from India or at least with an Indian accent. Best to block this call.

They said I would be arrested in a few days and to call the number back. I called, but it never stopped ringing.

I suppose it might be possible to verify the company and their intent by writing

Probably best just to verify through the police department or the FBI - I seem to recall a scam of this nature sweeping the country and the authorities were interested in collecting info. I doubt seriously anyone wants to be caught, prosecuted and sent to jail to be the screwed rather than be the screwer.

Called today; left a computerized ROBO voice message stating "we rec'd a legal petition notice against your name so before this matter goes to the federal claim court house or you get arrested please call us back at 415-762-0716". - Yeah OK, they should wait by the phone and I should be calling them back any day know.

Same thing for me just a few minutes ago. Received a call from 206-708-2849 with same verbiage around receiving a legal petition notice against my name and I needed to call before this goes to court or I am arrested. It asked me to call back at 415-762-0716. I did actually phone that number and spoke to someone with a strong accent. The second I started asking questions they hung up.
