Got the same message about a $100 gift card. The Text came very early, waking me up!!! I had just placed an order on a site the previous day, but after reading these comments, I know it's not related.
The message I got said "Thanks 4 visiting our website please call 866-630-3786 to claim your $100 WalMart gift card voucher! Reply STOP 2 unsub"
I will not reply to "unsub", but I did call the 866 number from a hotel phone. Sarah Gomez told me that all I have to do to claim my gift card is allow her to send me a free one month supply of "Bromo-cleanse", an all natural colon cleanser or something. It would only cost $3.95 shipping and handling. I asked how much my credit card would be charged after the first "free" month and she told me $59.95 and they also have another product for $79.95 a month! I asked a few more questions and she told me I should call the customer service number at 866-829-3172. Maybe I will to discuss the relative merits of a clean and shiny colon...
Does anyone know if this violates the do not call laws? I'm not calling back. I think my son left my phone number on a website for Job information that must have sold it to these tele-texters.
I got the same text. But when I called customer service as advised due to my questioned they couldn't answer, I got a very bad connection and couldn't hear the customer service rep. How convenient.
