It is a legitimate call.  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know and I didn't know this one.  They left a voicemail and the guy stated that he was reaching out to those who received a letter from FreddieMac (which I did - our property is in the foreclosure process.)  FreddieMac has a program available to those who qualify to reduce the mortgaged amount to be more in line with the actual severely reduced value of the home. (I did indeed receive the letter) He simply left a number and asked me to call him if I had any questions about the program.  I don't and won't be calling back, but in my case, it was a legitimate call.
