I kept receiving calls from this number and they would hang up when I answered. I finally called back and an indian guy name d Ben Baker saying he was with the IRS investigation office. He said I owed money. When I asked him what address I was at, he gave me an address from over 8 years ago. Total scam as I've paid my taxes every year and the IRS would have my current address.
Scammers. I got a call from another number last week -- a "Jane Smith" also claiming to be from IRS. I called back and the number goes to a full mailbox. I've owed the IRS money in the past and I can tell you from experience they NEVER call. They send a letter. and if you're in big trouble, they send it certified.
This is definitely a scam from someone claiming to be from the I.R.S. Investigation Division. They said I owed $6,000.00 , and if not paid they would have me jailed, take away my passport, and have me blackballed by all credit card companies!
These guys have such a heavy Hindu accent, I could barely understand them.
when I pressed them as to where they were, they gave me the address of the federal Building in San Francisco,CA.
(450 Golden Gate Avenue San Francisco, CA. 94102.
I reported this to the local police, and they said they have had MANY complaints about these guys....
If you get calls from these guys, just hang up, and report it to the police.
