I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

I just received a call from this number and they left a strange voicemail, I couldn't understand anything but something about the IRS. I called the number back and "Ryan from the IRS" supposedly answered. He stated that the IRS sent me a letter in November to a previous address I lived in. I told Ryan I haven't live there in over a year. Ryan then stated "well you need to call the 1800 number and then hung up on me." I searched the phone number on google and this is the first site I came across. The guy over the phone was extremely rude.
I just received an automated call from an officer nicky johnson telling me I was about to be sued and this was a 2nd attempt. The call showed up as coming from San Fransicso CA. The ph # 415.800.1911. It told me to not disregard the call and to call immediately back. I did and the gentleman answered the phone "Internal Revenue Service". He was totally hateful and when I asked for his employee ID # , he told me to " look it up, i wasnt his girlfriend". I told him that they contacted me, not the other way around and I want information on who they are if they are truly IRS. He said i owe IRS money and i wouldnt let him finish, i told him to provide me information on who he is if he is truly IRS. This is scary. i have had this # call my phone before but i was unable to answer until this morning. they do answer and they are claiming to be from the IRS. Someone from the IRS or govenerment needs to shut them down. this is scary business.
Fake IRS Agent. They hung up on me when I requested their Agent ID#. I called back about 50 times to harass them, and finally got someone on the phone who acted childish and like a fool cursing me out and making child noises on the phone while I spoke with them. This company is a huge fraud. I filed a formal complaint with the IRS against the number.
