Same call. Got another spam call a minute before on cell phone. Those pep talks at the crime syndicates must be brutal. Everyone's working today. Rumor has it that ISIS just completed a hostile takeover and heads will roll.
We got the call just now; 11:13AM on the East Coast. CID said "CELL PHONE CA". Normally I pick up/hang up to break the call, but am awaiting a doctor's call and since they move all over for their careers, its impossible to know what phone number they might be calling from, especially if they use their own cell phones.
Let it go to the machine; no message. Will probably BLOCK now.
The irony is, if we don't answer, we don't know what SCAM they are running (although they ALL boil down to STEALING something from us: our money or our identity.) Guess I'll have to wait for the brave souls who answer to post here.
Recording says: "this is not a sales call..." Senior Alert Systems is the purported caller. Says you've been awarded free medical alert system because you were recommended by your primary care physician. Also says you'll receive $3,000 in grocery coupons. Press 1 for to obtain or press 5 to let your medical provider know you are turning down the alert system. Really makes you want to rush and push buttons to get "free" stuff, huh? What a scam!
I received a call from them as well; claimed to be representingAARP and the alert company. I do not understand why the government is not doing more to stop these scammers. The first step is stopping all these websites like Spokeo that put information about you on the Internet without your permission. This is probably where all these thrives get our info in the first place
