Yeah, it's SFSU calling for donations for their Annual Funds. I think they target Alumni because I graduated fron there not too long ago. I'm just annoyed that they seem to call in the evening/after hours.
They say that the call is being supervised by their supervisor (at 8:30pm? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?) They ask you if your contact info is correct and if it needs to be updated. Then they ask you if you found a job yet and if you liked your major. Then they ask if you want to donate $250 or whatever you can afford.
If you say yes, they'll mail out a packet.
If you say no or if you're trying to say no, be firm about it. LOL.
First I am forced to graduate sooner by racist Dean Bedeson, former head of Financial Aid when she was kicked upstairs during the strike to Dean of Students, as undergrad. Then, as grad student was eventually blacklisted from getting 3 prof's to get on my thesis committee.. .because the "elite 14 students" in my grad dept. liked my info better than the contrived and in fact ridiculous course content (including "How To Sell Wholesale Drapery In Uruguay" - this was the Social Psychology Grad Dept (Newly Split from Industrial) who had begged me for a year to sign on due to my successful community development work and experience with the National Civil Rights Act Training Institute.. Well, so... a lawyer I saw said that indeed my First Amendment Rights were chilled/violated but... California State teachers were protected from punative damages, thus no lawyer would deal with a low value case, and as he had had to redo a year of law school for draft resistance, so did I a year of grad school and yet never get my M.A. (57 units of A work mind you) And I was VP of the student body once, and saw the connection they faculty admin had to some very ugly PTB and wrongful student body money allocation.. after 12 years off and on there, working full time sometime AND taking 9 to 18 units in two majors as M.A. fields, I went to work in a warehouse.
In 1983 I got sued by the Feds for non-payment of student loans and lost, as I was not told the date and just got a judgement anyway. (even though I was willing and able to make small payments at that time. Russienello (Fed D A) said, "Oh, we prefer to get the judgement first". So they then got the sum total of what that "education" was worth .. though I could never get a tax refund since.
one night in 1985 I was driving past their on 19th and had some kind of major cramps.. so rushed down the lawn behind the trees by the BSS bldg and created a statue tribute to the whole scene. That felt so good I almost was grateful I had some kind of food poisoning that weekend.
Then, many years later, I got a call and offer from the (this bunch w/the phone #) offering a brunch for 2 a block from where I had to be.. BUT, they would NOT leave the +1 unnamed, and I wasnot sure who I would want to bring to that kind of bit. So I told them to get lost, in a relatively succinct nice-enough email. And.. today.. there is that number. I didn't hear it ring so it's already on block. Called back to be referred to a day time number that gets inbound calls (again).
I guess I could put this on one of my blogs. But you heard it first.
Forgot to mention (for those bobos who'd hate on me for "not bothering") that I was unable to pay much on those loans most of the time because of a disability/injuries flaring up at times and no other jobs available in my chosen trained field due to, mainly, not having the MA & subsequent 3000 hours low paid training which I had to forgo when forced to bail on all that and support my family
