Same message, I got the call at work a couple of times. when I call to see what is going on they get mad and hang up on me. The problem I have is they have my ss#
I also just received a call from them saying they worked for ATTY Peter Jackson and Martin Smith who both sound American by name, but none of the people there spoke good english and all sounded like they were from India. They had my ssn# claimed I had 3 allegations of payday loans and they were going to see me in California court on Monday. That they would come to my work, pick me up and I would lose my current job. They told me I owed over $8,000, but would settle for $987.00 and would accept 2 payments of just under $500. They wanted my credit card #. I asked them why they couldn't send me an email confirming this, or a letter so I can pay by money order. They said their courts don't accept anything except credit cards. uh....sure.
They have both my cell phone # and my work #. What can I do about this?
The best way to handle these is don't talk to them. If you answer the call, just hang up and over about two weeks, they stop. By answering the call, they can't leave one of their stupid messages. All of these scams are the same. "The very second you hear this message, you need to call...."
Received a voicemail message from them; as others have said they don't speak very good English. I am a primary suspect in something I couldn't understand, and liens were being posted against my ??? and against my social security. If they really do have ssn's, it's pretty scary.
