Received several calls from this number. First one, when I answered, there was one one there. The next day, they called again, and a woman with perhaps an Asian accent, who knows my last name, tells me my computer is shown to be connected to some illegal activity. She tells me to hang on, then a man comes on, who seems to have an Indian accent. There is a lot of background noise, as if it is a call center, or busy office. The man wants to know if I'm on my computer at the time, and then says he'll wait while I get onto it. At that point, I said "no, thanks" and hung up. They immediately called back three times, and now a fourth time after a bit of time has elapsed. I also reverse-checked the number, and found the Microsoft connection. There is no name showing, associated with the number on my caller ID, though.
Same thing here...I was with this "technical support technichian from Microsoft" "Daniel Clark ID#117 strong Indian accent ....trying to help me look things in my C drive, because he stated my pc has been compromised with hackers..I told him I will be calling Microsoft to verify this.
