I keep getting text messages from this phone number (4)already today, and I don't know where it's coming from. The comments above which say can not reply, can not call number back, are right. My cell phone company can't do anything about it.
Only one message so far, on 2008 June 20. Message shows as
[]P
The cell phone shows "Message needs a reply": that is, you click to send the person a message that you received his/her message.
My instincts tell me, 'Don't do this'. Just delete the message. They could be trolling for live cell phone numbers and if you ping back, you're lighting up for the person. You'll likely receive more messages or telemarketing calls. If you replied, did you notice an increase in telemarketing calls to your cell phone? The 'Canada Do Not Call' list is a good idea, but it is a negative option practice. Why not save everyone time and trouble? Let's have a 'Canada Do Call' list. No one would sign up, there would be no list to maintain and we'd all have our privacy back.
