Solution: Take the call, act interested, setup a home visit, and when the soliciting contractor shows up, you tell them you made no such appointment, Waste their time, record the company and report them to the BBB for using this type service to hassle people. Wouldn't hurt to post those company names here either and get all related info in open forum.
It is also SO much fun to play with these AH's , by playing stupid, and responding that yes, you do have DUCKS, but they are quite clean and happy, as they roam the pen.
We've done this, but the calls dont stop. A hassle to say the least with 2 young kids in the house and being on the do not call list. Personally i'd rather get names and start calling them 4 times a day, waste their time, and publicly post the companies using these gravinder call centers.
Unfortunately, the numbers these AH's use are spoofed, and calls cannot be returned, or traced. The do not call registry is not observed by criminals, such as these.
CRTC is powerless to stop the calls or prosecute the firm or individuals making. The duct cleaning calls orginate from a call center in Lahore, Pakistan a sovereign foreign state. For that reason neither the CRTC Or Canadian government can stop the calls. Don't expect any help from the Pakistani authorites their happy people have jobs even of the dubious variety.
