Caller claimed to be an officer from revenue canada, had a recorded background noise like a busy office, insisted that I had an arrest warrant for outstanding balance. After checking with the r-canada and told that is not true I called back the number and demanded an explanation.. The strong Indian accented man dropped the phone.
I just had the same call saying it was REVENUE CANADA and I believe the message said John Parker. as it was a recorded message. When I called and asked who I was calling, he said I called a phone booth to get out of an awkward situation. Complete scam and waste of time.
I got the same call about 30 minutes at my home phone, saying the same thing. I called back, the strong Indian accent man demanding the phone number and my name, I gave the phone number and asked him what is my name if it was from revenue Canada, and he can't response.
I called them back, asking for someone to answer my questions in French, then proceeded to speak in French. He told me to speak English. I said in my "broken English" that Canada has 2 official languages, that there MUST be someone there that speaks French. He insisted I speak English, said I should be sent "back to my country" whatever that means! I repeated that there are 2 official languages. He argued with me, saying that English is the "first official language." I told him to Google the "Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms" and to look under the section "official languages." Then I asked him if he knew what the RCMP is. He said they work with the RCMP, so I asked him if he knew the old owner of my house who also worked for the RCMP. He said "no." Then I said "But I didn't even give you his name yet!" To say that the conversation was ridiculous would be a huge understatement.
