They called and claimed that I've won the WalMart Lottery. Could hardly understand them. They hung up when I started to ask questions like how I could win without entering the contest.
Received a call at 10:42 a.m. First silence... After my 3rd HELLO, WHO IS CALLING heard jabbering in the background. Caller with strong accent asked if I shopped at Walmart and went on that I was a winner in Walmart's powerball lottery. Then he said I won $1,800,000 and a brand new BMW, but first had to buy a $150 Western Union Money transfer for delivery of the car and money.
Powerball? The U.S. lottery? Now why would they be calling from a Toronto, Canada phone number? WalMart? I always thought that Government's run lotteries, not companies. You're right. All fake:
(1) You cannot win a contest you never entered.
(2) You cannot win a lottery you never bought a ticket on.
(3) Any request to use a cash wire transfer service, where you do not personally know the receiver of the funds, is a scam. Every time.

The WalMart lottery? Do you get it in Archie Double Digests? Another classic scam. Right up there with the Nokia, Samsung, Coca Cola, Facebook, Chevrolet lotteries. All advance fee scams. Government's run lotteries, not business'. As you stated, you have to buy a ticket to win.
