Randy McGuire
Called stating that "We have reports that your computer is generating error logs" Proceeded to tell me that this could be harmful to my computer, and began a process which I believe was aimed at getting me to provide the caller with remote access to my computer. Hung up quickly when I told him that I wanted my computer to generate error logs as this was helpful for troubleshooting errors. This call is clearly targeted at non-computer savvy people and in a worst case scenario could result in the caller gaining complete access to your computer and possession of ever last piece of data stored therein including all online banking data, personal contacts, personal financial records etc. EXTREME DANGER! DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BECOME INVOLVED IN ANY KIND OF CONVERSATION WITH THIS CALLER!

are we sure that this is not a legit comapny? not everything is a scam. obviously if someone wants access to your computer you should be very careful, but i can't find anything bad about them anywhere other than here. maybe they are a rare example of an honest company? lol. How do we know?

shill alert
Anybody who calls you out of the blue and claims your computer is working is engaging in social engineering and attempting to steal information from you and/or take over your computer by installing malware. Anybody. No exceptions. This is a SCAM.

But you already know that don't you "jj"? Otherwise why else would you be here trying to trick people?

I'm not trying to trick anybody. Maybe it is a scam. Maybe not, I don't know. But the fact that you assume I am working for them and trying to trick people is an example of paranoia distorting real facts. It's a perfect example of what i am trying to say about the company. How do we know that it is a scam? Maybe just these particular practices are only engaged in by scammers, but are there no examples of legitimate companies that assist people through remote assistance? There are third party software programs designed to facilitate remote assistance for this purpose, but is that supposed to be only for use with the company microsoft? I don't know. Maybe you know more than i do?
