Some doofus at this number woke me at 3AM to tell me he was checking on whether I had purchased some kind of software! If it ever happens again, I will launch a reverse call flow at all hours of the day and night to share the disturbance. Clearly, it was no wrong number call, since the guy had a whole patter about my "problem."
Calling numbers back doesn't help matters, in fact can make them worse. Its bad because the numbers are spoofed as a ROT. You could be calling some innocent persons number or a innocent business that had nothing to do with the calls. While we understand that is is a frustrating thing, its just a bad idea.
Consider buying a call blocking device or phone. Many are around $40.00 and can block up to 1500 numbers. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
What else did he say or did you hang up?
My suspicion is he was going to ask you for your credit card number and CVV code to cancel the software order ...
