The do not call list is probably just as much a scam. They just allow your number to be picked up by callers who otherwise wouldn't have known about it. Like scammers are going to care if you don't want them to call. I have gotten dozens of calls (mostly not answered) from a particular "company" that doesn't take hints very well - including after having been told that they have been reported to the authorities.
Anyway, the number being discussed here just rang my phone but I didn't answer so I can't say anything about it. I just wanted to see if others were being pestered by them.

This number calls here daily. No answer when I pick up, line sounds dead.
I called Allstream, they were no help, they deny any responsibility for users they provide they provide for. I called Telus, they asked for $1.95/month to block 12 numbers quicker than I could say 'corporate greed'.
