I live in a super small town in Ontario and work for an Electrolux call centre. I am sorry you're all having problems with them but hopefully you will better understand where we are coming from when we call you once I tell you my story.
The interview process was a joke, group interview, we were all asked a few questions about the website and told to call them back in a few days if we were interested in the job. So I call back a few days later and was told to come in for a second interview. I was put to work within 10 minutes once I arrived. I was handed a list of about 500 customers to start calling to see if they were interested in booking a "free annual inspection" the script was poorly written. My young child could have prepared something better. After working there for a week we are told about their other services. Clean air products, duct cleaning, carpet cleaning, etc. Now we have to call the same list about those services and piss people off again. I get called every name in the book, am asked to remove people from "our list" , told by clients that we called yesterday and were advised that they weren't interested then so why would they be now. I apologize for the inconvenience, hang up and tell my manager/store owner about what the client said. I've asked him several times if he wanted me to update their database and remove the caller info and his reply is no.
On average I call about 200 people in 4 hours and usually manage to make 3 appointments. The joke is really on us, not you. We get paid per appointment. That appointment has to be legit. The sales rep must go to the home and do the inspection or whatever we called about. I get paid $6.50 per legit appointment and nothing else for the rest of the calls I make. We also get your phone number from our database so you or the person who had your phone number before must have come into the store and purchased something. Even if it were just a filter.
Sorry to piss y'all off but I have to put food on my table. I make peanuts. Sometimes I make nothing. I hate this job with a passion. I am actively looking for something else. Tim Horton's is a major step up from this place but they aren't hiring. I don't want to call you, especially once you've told me to remove your info cause I know I am going to get chewed out when I call again. But, my manager says to keep calling so I have no choice. On the plus side, I am super happy and bubbly on the phone. Never rude to anyone so at least I am not a dick when I am forced to call you :)
these people keep calling us constantly, multiple times a week harasing us and we've asked them politely to stop calling and they don't stop. they are very rude and show disrespect to me each time they call. even after trying to block the number they manage to find another way to harass us. we called them back but the supervisor said that they didn't know they called and said if it happens again we should call the police.
