This is NOT a fake charity. Recycling matters works for the Community Living organization that works with mentally handicapped people. They collect used items and sell them to Value Village and use the money to support their organization.
Yet again the do not call registry is a waste of time as scam artists just claim 'charity' or 'survey'. The only true way to stop this is for EVERY SINGLE CANADIAN to never do unsolicited telephone business. Ever.
Just received a call claiming to be from the Children's Aid Society? They asked for anything toys, clothing etc. I thought they supported giving kids gifts, not used materials? Also, strange that other charities identify their businesses on a Call Display ("Out of Area") and the phone range with a long-distance tone, I live in Toronto and this should not happen unless the display is hiding their true identity.
Reading the earlier comments, I noticed all the different company names associated with this P$ to support my assumption this is likely a SCAM.
