Got a wake-up call before 9 AM on Sunday morning from 416.906.4444. Some Stupid ID theft Scam. Caller had an East Indian accent. He did ask for me only by last name and proceeded that he called from the Bank of Canada fraud center. Apparently all my bank accounts, credit cards have been frozen due to fraudulent acclivity on my accounts. Then he asked me to verify myself by having to provide my SIN number and birth date so he could help me to unfreeze the accounts. What a pile of..... He must have got our number from an online "phone book", unbeknown to him the listing is still in the wife's maiden name.

Woman with a strong accent called this afternoon claiming to be from the bank fraud department or something like that. I ended the call when she started to ask for personal information. Called my banks call center, was told that no one called and that there are no problems with our accounts. Bank rep. mentioned that the call we got was a identity theft scam
