Since the vast majority of these nuisance callers use automated dialers that call all numbers in sequence, having an unlisted number will not make a notable difference. You may also want to do an internet search on your number and see all the places it is listed and try and get it removed.
There is no name in the caller ID. The call was transferred to my answering machine; no message was left. I can only find other complaints about calls from this number when I search online. It does not appear to be associated with a legitimate business.
The number is most likely spoofed; I live in the GTA; we are still being targeted by "Air Duct Cleaning Services"; I suspect it is them. I'll leave this number blocked.
I did that and it became a cumbersome job, we also had a number that once belonged to a franchise location of Great Canadian Bagel which has been closed. ........however, I understand the automated callers, as 2-3 days later we did receive another call.......but we were being harassed by a company.......hopefully, we will have some peace and quiet for a while. Funnily enough, we received another call from that same number last night.........
Caller claimed to be calling on behalf of Sunlife & Manual Life insurance. Asked how he got our number and replied with "from Government resource page". Hung up on the scammer
