I just block them. It's too bad we couldn't all get together, keep the recordings and file a class action suit agains Maranda and Allen & Burke. Maybe it would stop the madness
Left 2 messages..calling for Attorney Alan N Burke..A formal complaint has been submitted against you.we must hear from you or your attorney immediately today. Be advised this matter requires your immediate attention. F we do not hear from you or your attorney we will document your file and submit it for processing. The call was from Miranda. Called the number out of curiosity. It rang about 8 times and a machine answered "Pre Trial Intervention". Leave your name number and case number and someone will get back to you in 24 to 48 hours. Miranda did not say my name or give me a case number or any other information.
Total scam. Do not return their calls. Do not talk to them. Block their calls. DO NOT LET THEM PUSH YOU AROUND! They call from other numbers and say they are Allen and Burke. Basically these people try to scare you by claiming that some private attorney is going to file charges for criminal acts. Which is total clap-trap. The DA is the only person authorized to file criminal charges. Then they'll say there are bad check issues concerning a bank. Sometimes they say you defaulted on a payday loan and criminal charges will be filed. Which is more total clap-trap. If there were bad checks you'd already know about it from the bank. Usually these kinds of things are settled between the bank and the patron. Only if it's a serious amount and a continual problem will the bank contact the police. The bank would be he complaining party, not some scammy debt collector. If they are yapping about a payday loan default. Too bad. Being in debt is not a crime and you can't be arrested for it. Debt collectors have no powers of arrest and absolutely no influence on public prosecutors or police. You can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt.
This is a total scam. These people are clearly violating federal rules.
File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act prohibits debt collectors from being abusive, unfair or deceptive.

These [***] [***] keep calling me to tell me I've committed bank fraud and wire fraud along with collateral check fraud. I think it's hilarious and total [***]
They just did the same thing to me. They didn't even answer allen & Burke when I called. I thought I had did something wrong but I know I don't write checks. I asked for their physical address for & she gave me 2 for Texas then when I asked for a real one she put me on hold. Everything I asked, I was out on hold
