It's B.S. First of all, the IRS does not call. They will contact you in writing. The only time that they MAY call is if you have an open case with them and have spoken with them previously. Also, they would not leave a message via a "robo-call" like this one that is cut off. Nor... would they call someone's cell phone. Most of the calls I was getting have been on my cell. Last year they actually had real human beings calling and leaving these threatening messages. Some Indian-guy with the name of "Officer Alex Jones" or something. I personally received several calls over the course of 6 months. I have now been suddenly receiving these "robo-calls" as of late from various areas throughout the country. Please note, this number will not be the only number you will get these calls from. It's annoying... but, it's also scammers trying to get your information to steal $$ from you or attempt identity theft. You'd be amazed how many people will just pay to "make them go away not realizing it's "not for real". Also... IRS representatives are referred to as "agents" not "officers" as this has come up before as well. I work in a CPA office. Just saw a training on these types of things. It's real. It's real b.s. You should report the call on the IRS website. If you don't believe me... believe this article that came out from Forbes.com last week.... http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/ ... t-discriminate/
Did not say who they were but said my case would go before the magistrate or grand jury. Said if I did not return their call they wished me good luck as the situation unfolds on me. All automated. Exact same as everyone else
I also got the same message no mention as to who they were. Said my case would go before the magistrate or grand jury if I did not return their call. Wished me good luck as the situation unfolds on me. All automated female voice.
I received that recorded message as well. The caller did not identify who they represented and I'm not calling back. Call received August 18, 2016 8:22 am.
