If you have recently filled out a job application online-using one of those clearinghouse type sites that submit your resume to more than one place-a lot of times there is a question asking if you would go back to school if you qualified for a grant. If you enter any information into that pop-up, trust me, you will be harassed. These are middlemen agencies who will ask you many questions in regard to your life, finances, living situation, education level, and more. If you say you are interested, they will then pass you on to an academic advisor at some unknown school based on your answers- and if they deem you qualified for a grant. Keep in mind, both the referral services, and the schools will get money if they recieve your business-as many of these pop-up schools(while usually certified in their home states, but no other educational licensing agency)overcharge the government in terms of what they need to provide for your education. Some schools will use this overage as a means to "pay" you for attending. If it is grant-based, all good; if your FAP contains loans, they are paying you out of your Federal Loan...and you WILL have to pay your "pay" back. Be Careful with your information.
I received 5 calls from this number today alone. I did a Spokeo reverse number search and thats when I found out it was a telemarketer. I told them to take me off of their list but I am reporting them to DoNotCall.gov.
